Overview ​

Opti.domains represents an interoperable domain name within the Optimism Protocol Stack (OP Stack). Our core objective aligns with endorsing the intents and missions articulated by the Optimism Foundation, while preserving compatibility with the Ethereum Name Service (ENS).

We have engineered a pioneering technology designed to bolster interoperability among Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) related chains, specifically focusing on the OP Stack. This technology is integral to the deployment of contracts to identical addresses across chains, thereby creating an opportunity for our identity to function as the cornerstone of interoperability amongst OP Stack chains.

Additionally, our contracts can be independently and permissionlessly deployed on each chain by developers, paving the way for a smooth user onboarding experience from the primary Optimism chain to the deployed chains. We have dedicated significant time and resources to the design of the domain model, aiming primarily to maximize benefits for the Optimism community.

Intent 1: Progress Towards Technical Decentralization ​

• Enabling permissionless deployment of ENS across OP stack chains.
• Facilitating the development of interoperability among the Optimism and OP stack chains.
• Exploring possibilities for the research and deployment of a new OP stack chain, specifically focusing on layer 3-based technology in the future.

Intent 2: Innovate on Novel Applications ​

In a synergistic collaboration with Bored Town, Opti.domains aims to augment the aspects of Optimism's decentralized identity and attestation mechanisms by:

• Contributing to the attestation of social identities.
• Unifying multiple wallets across chains into a singular identity through Optimism attestation.
• Facilitating Optimism attestation of whitelisting entries across chains.

Intent 3: Spread Awareness of the Optimistic Vision ​

• Together with Bored Town, we can let more people know about the optimistic vision through various NFT campaigns.
• Organizing developer hackathons, powered by our OP builder grant.

Intent 4: Governance Accessibility ​

• Alliance formation, verification, management, attest and vote using .op domains name system.
• Implementing a sub-governance system using a combination of OP token delegation and the protocol's NFT or token.
